Experience making your own vegan temari sushi with seasonal vegetables and edible flowers! This unique workshop begins with a sourcing tour through a supermarket, a depachika, and Nishiki Market. It offers a rare look into Kyoto’s vegetable production while you gather fresh ingredients for your creation.

Kyoto’s Morning Food & History Tour
Embark on a morning journey from the historic Nishiki Market to a modern depachika (food hall). Discover the essence of Kyoto’s 1,000-year-old food culture through dashi broth, fermented delicacies, heirloom Kyoto vegetables and knives. The tour concludes with a premium seasonal Makunouchi bento lunch - Kyoto's culinary artistry on a single plate.

The tour takes you to three local Kyoto stores, with more than 100 years of history of creating and refining their own unique products such as soy sauce, miso and vinegar. At the end you will taste three signature cocktails with these products!
